Sydney PEN: Lecture by visiting Tibetan poet and activist Tenzin Tsundue, Wedn. 15 Feb, 2012

 

Sydney PEN is delighted to invite members and guests to a lecture by Tenzin Tsundue, a Tibetan intellectual from India. Tsundue was a keynote speaker at the Annual Festival of Tibet held in early February at the Brisbane Powerhouse, where he performed in front of an Empty Chair. He is touring with his book of poems and short stories, 'Kora'.

Tsundue won the Outlook-Picador Award for Non-Fiction in 2001, and is the General Secretary for Friends of Tibet (India). His writings have been published by International PEN, the Guardian newspaper, Outlook, The Times of India, Tibetan Review and many other publications. As a poet he represented Tibet in the Second South Asian Literary Conference in New Delhi in 2005, Poetry Africa in Durban in 2006 and the Jaipur Literature Festival in 2010. Tsundue lives in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, India.
